The Shelter Project is a public service ad campaign focused on raising awareness for pet adoption. Recently the campaign released a few TV spots that are making an impact on YouTube as well. The 30 second spots feature adopted pets making observations about their new owners into the camera. The idea behind the commercial is simple and in my opinion, extremely effective.
Using humor to reach a broad audience is a familiar tactic, but often times there isn’t a clear connection between what makes the ad funny, and the action that the company behind the ad wants the consumer to take. Luckily, that’s not the case with these ads. The agency behind the ads does a great job of personifying the pets and appealing to animal lovers everywhere.
There are four ads all together, but I chose just to share my favorite three. Watch and enjoy as some newly adopted pets share their experiences adjusting to a new home.
